Your reading stays yours
Simple tools.
Less data.
This notice describes My Reading Pace and the data used by its reading tools.

Your pasted text
Text in the calculator is counted in this tab. Application code does not upload it, save it in browser storage, put it in a URL, or send it to analytics or an AI service. It disappears when you reload or leave the page. Your browser, extensions, or device may have their own behavior outside this application.
Saved reading results
This browser can store up to 20 completed valid attempts: a local identifier, passage and version, date, mode, word count, elapsed time, pace, number of correct answers, repetition, passage type, and completion status. It also keeps up to 100 passage/version exposure records. Names, email addresses, question choices, and pasted text are not stored.
Use “Show saved results” and “Clear history” on the test page to remove these records. Your browser’s site-data settings can also remove them. Storage can be unavailable or lost; the tools still work.
Moving your pace to the calculator
Choosing a pace remembers the selected result, or three-result median, in this browser with its question score, mode and source details. A temporary copy transfers it to the calculator and is removed there. Clearing history also clears this preference. No result is placed in the URL.
Your share image
Images are created locally from your displayed result. They show reading pace and concise mode/repetition context by default, without your name or stored identifier. Include my question score is off until you choose it; that same choice controls the caption and accessible description. Preview or download does not post anything. If you choose your device’s share menu, the image is handed to the app you select; that app’s handling then applies. Pasted calculator text never appears in these images.
Requests and tracking
The homepage video keeps your Play/Pause choice only while that view is open. It does not save a video preference in cookies or browser storage. Reduced-motion and supported data-saving preferences suppress automatic playback; you can choose Play yourself.
The site serves its own code, images and font, with no advertising or account system. Google Analytics loads only if you choose Allow analytics. Until then, no analytics script, request or cookie is created. Refusing it leaves all reading tools available. Analytics settings below lets you inspect and change your choice.
After opt-in, analytics counts visits and deliberate tool actions using public route, passage and mode labels. It excludes your pasted text, answers, exact pace, question scores, saved-result identifiers and URL queries/referrers. Attribution is currently unknown. Google may also process connection, browser and session information; these counts are not every visitor.
The local choice record contains only your choice, version and expiry, for up to 30 days. After opt-in, first-party analytics cookies expire within that same period without renewal on return. Google’s user/event retention is configured for two months without renewal; aggregate reports may remain longer. Advertising storage, data sharing for ads and personalization stay disabled. No exact seven-day return metric is available.
Use Analytics settings to refuse or withdraw. Withdrawal stops further collection and removes this project’s analytics cookies; it does not remove your saved reading history or recall data already sent. If the choice cannot be stored/read safely, analytics stays off. Local test activity uses a separate QA property and does not represent real visitors. Google describes its handling in its privacy policy.
The hosted website uses Cloudflare Pages to deliver pages and assets. Like other hosting providers, Cloudflare processes connection information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect the service. This is separate from your reading history and pasted text, which our tools keep on your device. We do not enable an application database, Cloudflare visitor analytics or custom request-log exports. Cloudflare describes its own handling and retention in its privacy policy.
